The Molt
The Molt
A drift of deer
appear in the morning fog,
tufts of winter fur
snagging,
on bushes, shrubs,
as if leaving behind
a favorite shirt, faded
to pale,
a sliver necklace,
you once gave me.
Then they’re gone.
